Your gut data is personal. Here's exactly how we handle it — in plain language.

Last updated: August 31, 2026

1. Overview

Gut Pace (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is a gut health tracking app that helps you log meals, symptoms, sleep, hydration, activity and mindfulness, and turn those logs into a daily Logging Points score and insights.

This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using Gut Pace you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

Account information — your name and email address when you create an account or contact us.

Health and lifestyle logs you enter — meals, photos of food, symptoms, stool logs, water intake, sleep, activity, mindfulness sessions and notes. This data is sensitive and we treat it accordingly.

Wearable data — if you choose to connect Apple HealthKit, Samsung Health Connect, or a supported wearable, we read only the metrics you authorize, such as sleep, heart rate and activity. We never access wearable data without your explicit permission.

Usage and device data — anonymized analytics such as feature usage, crash reports, device model and OS version, used to improve reliability.

3. How we use your information

To compute your Logging Points score, streaks, trends and trigger insights.

To power the AI food scanner and AI coach features you choose to use.

To generate reports you request, such as doctor-ready PDF exports.

To respond to support requests and to send essential service communications.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your health logs for advertising.

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on encrypted infrastructure with industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.

On-device data is protected by your device's own security (passcode, Face ID, etc.).

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we continuously review and improve our practices.

5. Your rights and choices

Export — download a complete copy of your logs at any time from the app's settings.

Delete — delete individual logs or your entire account and all associated data, permanently, from within the app.

Permissions — revoke wearable, camera or notification permissions at any time in your device settings; core logging still works manually.

Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have additional rights such as access, correction and portability. Contact us to exercise any of them.

6. Data sharing

We do not share your personal or health data with third parties except: (a) service providers that help us operate the app under strict confidentiality obligations, (b) if required by law, or (c) with your explicit consent, such as when you export a report for your clinician.

7. Children's privacy

Gut Pace is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Medical disclaimer

Gut Pace is a self-tracking tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Always consult a qualified clinician for medical advice.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
